On Purpose: The Rogue Report
Welcome back to The Rogue Report, your weekly invitation to live intentionally, walk boldly, and choose purpose over comfort.
As we step into August—the eighth month, we enter a season that symbolizes new beginnings, renewal, and fresh momentum. But new beginnings don’t happen simply because the calendar changes. They begin the moment we say “yes” to God’s direction.
Last month, we focused on R — Release. We let go of old expectations, unhealthy attachments, guilt, and the exhausting need for external validation.
This month, we take the next step in our Go Rogue Roadmap:
O — Obedience
Divine Alignment Over Personal Comfort
When you hear the word obedience, what comes to mind?
For many people, obedience sounds restrictive. It feels like giving something up, sacrificing freedom, or following rules that limit our happiness. But God’s definition of obedience is completely different.
Obedience isn’t about restriction.
It’s about alignment.
It is the intentional decision to trust God’s blueprint over our own, His timing over our impatience, and His purpose over our personal comfort.
Because every new beginning begins with obedience.
The Comfort Zone Can Become a Cage
Let’s be honest.
Comfort feels good.
It’s familiar.
It’s predictable.
It’s safe.
Sometimes comfort looks like staying in a job that no longer fulfills you because the paycheck feels secure.
Sometimes it looks like remaining in relationships you’ve outgrown because starting over feels frightening.
Sometimes it looks like saying “yes” to everyone else while continually saying “no” to yourself.
Comfort isn’t always sinful.
But when comfort keeps us from God’s calling, it quietly becomes a prison.
The greatest danger isn’t failure.
It’s becoming so comfortable that we stop growing.
As women, we often convince ourselves that we’re simply “waiting on God,” when in reality God has been waiting on us to take the first faithful step.
“You cannot step into your new beginning while holding onto the safety of your old season.”
Obedience Begins With One Word
Yes.
Yes before all the answers.
Yes before the outcome makes sense.
Yes before fear disappears.
Throughout Scripture, God rarely revealed the entire plan before asking someone to move.
He simply asked for obedience.
Whether it was Abraham leaving everything familiar, Esther risking her life for her people, or Peter stepping out of the boat, obedience always required trusting God beyond what was visible.
Alignment begins the moment we choose faith over certainty.
As Isaiah 30:21 reminds us:
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
Obedience isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about trusting the One who does.
Honoring Your Temple Is an Act of Obedience
Obedience isn’t limited to major life decisions.
Sometimes it begins with something much quieter.
Rest.
Healing.
Boundaries.
Stillness.
Taking care of the body God entrusted to you.
Far too often, women wear exhaustion like a badge of honor while placing themselves at the bottom of every priority list. But when we continually neglect our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, we make it harder to hear God’s gentle direction through the noise of everyday life.
One of the ways I intentionally create space to slow down and reconnect is through yoni steaming.
For me, it isn’t simply a wellness practice.
It’s a sacred pause.
A moment to be still.
To breathe deeply.
To pray.
To release stress and tension.
To reflect.
To create room for God to speak without distraction.
While every woman’s self-care journey will look different, intentional moments of restoration help us quiet the noise so we can better recognize where God is leading us.
This month, I invite you to consider making space for your own sacred reset.
Whether that’s through prayer, journaling, quiet reflection, a yoni steam session, or simply sitting with God in silence, honoring your temple is never selfish.
It’s stewardship.
Your Next “Yes”
As we begin this month of obedience, ask yourself:
Where is God inviting me to choose alignment over comfort?
Is He calling you to establish healthier boundaries?
To finally begin the business you’ve been dreaming about?
To forgive?
To heal?
To rest?
To let go?
To trust Him with something you’ve been trying to control?
Obedience doesn’t require perfection.
It simply requires a willing heart.
Every act of obedience—no matter how small—is another step toward becoming the woman God created you to be.
🌿Weekly Reflection & Action Step
This week, spend a few moments reflecting on these questions:
- What area of my life have I been choosing comfort instead of obedience?
- What is one “yes” God may be asking me to say this week?
- How can I intentionally honor my mind, body, and spirit so I can walk in greater alignment?
Then, schedule one sacred appointment with yourself this week.
Maybe it’s time in prayer.
Maybe it’s journaling with a warm cup of herbal tea.
Maybe it’s a restorative yoni steam session.
Whatever it is, protect that time.
Because every act of intentional self-care is an opportunity to quiet the noise, reconnect with God, and prepare your heart for what’s next.
This month, we aren’t choosing what feels easiest.
We’re choosing divine alignment over personal comfort.
Because on the other side of obedience is the new beginning you’ve been praying for.
Let’s Go Rogue. ✨
Go Rogue Reminder 👑
Release what no longer serves you.
