G — GROWTH | Grow in Purpose

September Anchor:
“I will not rush what God is rooting, resist what He is pruning, or shrink from what He is stretching. I am growing on purpose.”

Welcome back to The Rogue Report, our space for living intentionally, walking in alignment, and choosing purpose over comfort.

Yes, it’s October.

And no, we’re not skipping the end of September’s story just because the calendar turned the page. 💜

Because growth doesn’t happen according to an editorial calendar.

Sometimes life gets busy. Plans shift. Things don’t happen when we intended them to.

And perhaps there’s a lesson in that too:

You don’t have to abandon something meaningful simply because you didn’t finish it on schedule.

Finish it.

So before we step fully into what’s next, we’re closing our September GROW journey.

We began by learning that growing pains can accompany expansion.

Then we talked about pruning—making room by examining what needs to be released, tended, or changed.

Now we’re bringing the final three pieces together:

Rooting. Becoming. Harvesting.

Because sustainable growth isn’t simply about how high you rise.

It’s about what holds you when you get there, who you’re becoming along the way, and what your consistency eventually produces.

🌱 ROOTED BEFORE YOU RISE

We live in a culture fascinated by what can be seen.

The title.

The accomplishment.

The announcement.

The platform.

The finished product.

The bloom.

But some of the most important work of growth happens where nobody can applaud it.

Beneath the surface.

Think about a tree.

We admire its height, its branches, its leaves, its fruit—but what allows that tree to remain standing isn’t the part we photograph.

It’s the root system beneath it.

And our lives aren’t so different.

Your roots are developed in the quiet places.

In prayer when nobody knows you’re praying.

In keeping your word when nobody would know if you didn’t.

In choosing discipline when there is no immediate reward.

In doing the right thing without recognition.

In continuing when the excitement has worn off.

In developing character before anybody gives you a title that requires it.

Everybody wants the bloom. Few people honor what had to happen beneath the soil.

But visibility without foundation is fragile.

So perhaps the question isn’t simply:

How high can I rise?

Maybe it’s:

How deeply am I willing to root?

Because what sustains you matters just as much as what elevates you.

👑 OUTGROWING YOUR OWN SHADOW

But roots aren’t only about discipline.

They’re also about identity.

Because sometimes the thing preventing us from growing isn’t another person, another circumstance, or another closed door.

Sometimes we’re still living according to an outdated definition of ourselves.

There is a version of you that got you here.

She survived things.

She learned lessons.

She developed ways of protecting herself.

She made decisions with the information, resources, faith, and understanding she had at the time.

Honor her.

But don’t confuse honoring who you were with remaining who you were.

A shadow follows you.

It doesn’t have to lead you.

Maybe you’re still describing yourself by something you did years ago.

Maybe you’re making today’s decisions based on yesterday’s fear.

Maybe you’re still proving something that no longer needs to be proven.

Maybe everyone around you can see how much you’ve changed…

except you.

Growth requires us to update the way we see ourselves.

And that doesn’t mean criticizing the woman we used to be.

It means extending grace to her.

Maybe she stayed too long.

Maybe she didn’t know how to say no.

Maybe she tolerated too much.

Maybe she was afraid.

Maybe she didn’t recognize her value yet.

Maybe she simply didn’t know then what she knows now.

She doesn’t need your shame.

She needs your gratitude.

Because somehow, she got you here.

So tell her:

“Thank you for getting me here. I’ll take it from here.”

You are allowed to become.

You are allowed to change your standards.

Your boundaries.

Your habits.

Your expectations.

Your priorities.

Your mind.

You don’t have to erase your history to stop allowing it to write your future.

Your roots remind you who you are. Your growth requires you to release who you are no longer.

🌾 THE HARVEST OF CONSISTENCY

And then comes the part everybody loves.

The harvest.

But here’s what September has taught us:

Harvest is rarely one big moment.

It is usually the visible evidence of many small moments that came before it.

One prayer.

One boundary.

One workout.

One saved dollar.

One difficult conversation.

One page written.

One application submitted.

One morning you got up and tried again.

One decision not to return to an old pattern.

One more day of choosing what aligns with the woman you’re becoming.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Until one day, you look around and realize:

Something grew.

We sometimes underestimate consistency because it isn’t exciting.

There isn’t always applause for doing the thing you said you would do.

Nobody sees every private decision.

There may be no dramatic breakthrough to post.

But consistency has a way of accumulating.

And eventually, the choices that seemed insignificant begin telling a story.

A boundary becomes a lifestyle.

A discipline becomes a habit.

A prayer becomes deeper faith.

A repeated choice becomes character.

And the woman who once had to consciously choose differently begins to realize:

This is simply who I am now.

That’s harvest too.

🌱 THE ROGUE REFLECTION

As we close September, don’t only ask yourself what you accomplished.

Ask yourself:

ROOT — What became stronger beneath the surface?
What discipline, faith practice, boundary, or character trait are you developing even if nobody else can see it yet?

BECOME — What version of yourself are you ready to thank and release?
What old label, fear, behavior, or identity no longer gets to determine how you move forward?

HARVEST — What has your consistency already produced?
Look closely. What are you doing, believing, tolerating, choosing, or handling differently today than you were several months ago?

Don’t dismiss small evidence.

Small growth is still growth.

The September Closing Declaration

I will honor what God is rooting, release the identity I have outgrown, and remain faithful in the small choices that build my future. I do not need to rush my becoming or perform my progress. I will tend what has been planted, trust what is developing beneath the surface, and recognize the harvest when it comes. I am growing on purpose.

Sacred One, September wasn’t about becoming somebody else.

It was about developing the capacity to become more fully who you’re called to be.

We stretched.

We pruned.

We rooted.

We released old identities.

And we learned to honor consistency before the harvest appeared.

Now we carry those lessons forward.

Because a new month doesn’t mean we abandon what the last one taught us.

We build on it.

🌱 Release made room.
👣 Obedience gave direction.
🌿 Growth developed capacity.

And now?

We keep going.

Go Rogue. Grow in Purpose. 💜👑
