Thursday Truth: Discerning the Voice Within
Share
I’m coming to you a day later than planned because the truth is — sometimes the noise of the world gets in the way of the schedule.
But that’s exactly what we’re talking about this week.
Tuning out the noise.
If you are becoming your own sanctuary, you must learn how to recognize which voice deserves your attention.
Today’s Thursday Truth is about the fine line between Fear and Intuition.
Both speak in the silence.
Both feel internal.
Both can sound convincing.
But they carry very different frequencies.
Fear vs. Intuition: The Subtle Distinction
🔹 Fear is a storyteller.
It lives in “what ifs.”
What if this fails?
What if they leave?
What if I embarrass myself?
What if I’m wrong?
Fear feels urgent.
Frantic.
Repetitive.
It often shows up in the body as:
- Tightness in the chest
- A lump in the throat
- Racing thoughts
- A need to act immediately
Fear wants control.
It argues.
It spirals.
🔹 Intuition is a witness.
It does not argue.
It does not panic.
It does not repeat itself twenty times.
It lands.
Intuition feels like a quiet knowing in your gut.
Sometimes heavy.
Sometimes calm.
Sometimes inconvenient.
It may require courage, but it doesn’t create chaos.
Intuition does not scream.
It simply says, “This is true.”
And then it waits.
Why This Matters
When you cannot discern the difference, you will:
- Walk away from things meant for you because fear got loud.
- Stay in places not meant for you because fear disguised itself as safety.
- Ignore truth because it felt uncomfortable.
Sanctuary requires discernment.
You cannot become your own safe place if you allow fear to run the house.
A Gentle Self-Check
The next time a decision feels heavy, pause and ask:
- Is this voice urgent or grounded?
- Is it repetitive or clear?
- Is my body tightening or settling?
- Is this voice protecting me from growth — or guiding me toward truth?
Fear contracts.
Intuition anchors.
One is loud.
The other is steady.
Closing Reflection
You don’t silence fear by fighting it.
You quiet it by listening for something deeper.
Becoming your own sanctuary means learning your internal language.
And once you learn it, you won’t need as much external noise.
Just awareness.
Just presence.
Just truth.
